Race
Description

The Race consists of four legs, each 1.25 miles in length.

The first leg is easterly through the main harbor channel towards Winter Island.
The first mark is a Red “22” government mark. All boats will round the mark clockwise and continue back down
the channel for the second leg. The second mark, a Red “2” day beacon, is just southwest of Forest River Park.
This mark must be rounded clockwise and the course retraced for the third and fourth legs.

When retracing the course, racers must stay to the left of the channel and round government mark “22” counterclockwise. There is a red day beacon “2” approximately in the middle of the legs. Racers must
respect this mark by keeping it to the left on outbound legs and to the right on inbound legs.

The start and finish line will be in the water just off the beach at Forest River Park, Salem.
Spectator visibility will be excellent from both along the shore and by boat in the harbor.
